In 1998 Diane brought a bunch of her life-inspired originals to the attention of husband/trumpet man Bobby Hancock and then saxophone player David Threlkeld. Diane recalls, “We wanted these songs to be big with powerful horns and intense soloists.” The “Push on Through” project would ultimately feature arrangements that would require as many as 18 different parts. It was recorded at the famed “Southern Sound Studios” in Tennessee. The album features a great variety of songs often juxtaposing the down-on-my-luck stereotype of the blues genre with Diane’s positive lyrics about overcoming hardships and finding real love. Now digitally remastered, Push on Through is bigger, brighter and better than ever.
